How Does Scour Jetting Work?

plumberWe are not here to knock the idea of rolling up your sleeves, breaking out a can of good old fashioned elbow grease, and getting down to work. There are countless jobs around the house and around your property that you can handle on your own, and many more that you can learn your way into completing. However,  your plumbing system simply is not an applicable area for these DIY skills. Your plumbing system requires professional services, period. Every time.

Now, we’re not saying that you cannot plunge your own toilet or that you can’t try to clear a shallow clog from a drain. However, anything beyond that level of complexity, even if it is a job you can technically do, is going to require professional service if you want it done to produce lasting results. Assuming that you don’t want to be dumping bottle after bottle of ineffective chemical cleaners down your drain, we strongly recommend that you schedule professional scour jet service in Phoenix.

How Does Scour Jet Service Work?

A typical drain cleaning job might entail the use of a drain auger in order to snake clogs out of that drain. The problem there is that the majority of a clog may be removed, but it is unlikely to completely remove every bit of debris that is causing the problem. In the short term, you can absolutely expect to see a better performance from the drain in question. In the long term, however, you’re probably going to wind up with another clog before too long. With scour jetting, you don’t have to worry about that.

Scour jet equipment consists of a flexible hose that can be fed down into your drains. Affixed to that hose is a sprayer nozzle that can blast pressurized water in a 360° pattern. As the hose moves through the drainpipe, the debris—even that debris that clings tightly to the walls of the pipe—will be blasted away and flushed out of the drain line.

What Are the Benefits?

Clogged drains are a major problem, obviously. They’re unsanitary. They smell bad. And, depending on where the clog is, it can make it impossible to flush your toilet without backups! Obviously, clearing clogs in general is a great benefit.

The major benefit of this particular method of clearing clogs, however, is the effectiveness and comprehensive solution that it offers. When you scour your drains with pressurized water, you aren’t taking any chances. You are investing in lasting results. Is it going to cost you more than a few bottles of corrosive drain cleaners? Sure. It also costs more to fill your gas tank with gasoline than it would with tap water, but you’ll get better results with the former!

In all seriousness, the initial investment that you make will pay off in the long run. Reach out to our Sunny Plumbers if you have any questions regarding this or any other service that we offer.
