5 Signs of a Slab Leak

sunny-plumbersLeaks aren’t something you should ignore, ever. However, slab leaks are something that can easily go unnoticed for a long period of time, and that really isn’t your fault. These are sneaky leaks that are much harder to detect. But this makes them that much more likely to cause serious problems in your home.

Finding a slab leak is one step in the journey. Repairing that slab leak is the other half. And neither of these things is something you should have to attempt on your own. If you suspect you have a slab leak, make sure to reach out to a professional plumber for assistance as soon as you can. Here are some indicators that it is time to make that call for slab leak services in Phoenix.

1. There are warm spots on your floor.

Do you notice spots around the ground floor in your home that are warmer than others? This might be pleasant during the colder months of the year but, unless you have an in-floor radiant heater, it isn’t good news. Those warm spots are likely caused by a slab leak!

2. You see puddles around the edges of your home.

When you walk outside, do you notice that there are puddles around the edges of your home? This shouldn’t be happening! Those puddles are likely caused by a slab leak releasing extra water around the base of the home. If you notice this, make sure to get repairs ASAP before it costs you the integrity of your home!

3. There is reduced water pressure in one or more areas of your home.

You turn on one or more taps in your home and discover that the water pressure is weaker than before. This is going to be problematic and frustrating. It may very well be caused by a slab leak too. Don’t ignore or try to get by with weak water pressure: reach out for professional assistance to address it.

4. You have an overly active water meter.

Take a moment to check your water meter. We can wait here. If your water meter is showing activity even though no one is using any of your plumbing appliances, it might be due to a slab leak. Make sure to have your home checked out.

5. You can see signs of water damage to your floors

Last but not least, be on the alert for damage to your floors. Warped flooring or soggy carpet on the ground floor of your home are often caused by a slab leak. If you notice this problem, call for slab leak detection as soon as possible.

Suspect you have a slab leak? If so, it is time to take action! Leaving a slab leak unaddressed can lead to a problem with water damage in your home and, even worse, it can compromise the foundation of your home!
